THE 14TH ANNUAL
HARBOR HOUSE 400
Ride For New Beginnings
July 7 - July 11, 2010

Plans are well under way for this year's Harbor House 400 - in its 14th year.  As it has been the last few years, the ride offers 3 levels of participation:  a 5-day, a 3-day and a 1-day ride.  All of the rides will be taking place from July 7th to the 11th.  The 5-day ride will be about 400 miles and start on July 7th, the 3-day ride will be approximately 250 miles and these riders will join the 5-day riders on July 8th, and the 1-day 25 mile ride is held on July 11th.

The 5- and 3-day ride this year is bringing riders and support personnel down to southern New Jersey through picturesque ocean views and sprawling farmland.  As one might expect with a route like this, the terrain is essentially flat, but there will also be some "ups and downs" since there always are.

The 5-day riders will be leaving from the St. Aloysius Church in Jackson pedaling their way to the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City.  The distance traveled this day will be about 89 miles (for those who don't take any unexpected side trips).

Day 2 has the riders making their way to the Hampton Inn in Pennsville, New Jersey.  This is also the site where the 3-day riders will be joining up with the 5-day riders.

Day 3 brings the riders to the Homewood Suites in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

Day 4, the beginning of the final leg, has the riders cycling about 80 miles into the Marriott Courtyard in Lincroft.  A surprise is planned for the end of the day.

Day 5, for the 5- and 3-day riders, is their shortest mileage day - just about 62 miles.  As they ride into Windward Beach Park in Brick, they will be joined by the 1-day riders who completed their own 25-mile journey that morning.

The route sheets for the 5- and 3-day rides will be available on this site.  Please note that although the final destination of each day should remain the same, there may be some changes in the route to get there.  Dedicated volunteers travel the route between now and the start of the ride to make necessary adjustments based on construction, traffic patterns, safety, etc.  Final route sheets are included in the rider packets, which are distributed the morning of the ride.

See the following pages for a letter from the chair people of the ride, an application and some tips.  Also please feel free to contact us for more information about the ride or the agency (732) 864-2111.
