YOUTH SHELTER

Shelter on Windsor AvenueOur 12 bed shelter provides a safe haven for youth in crisis, 24-hours a day, seven days a week. With a goal of family reunification, our staff works closely with parents and extended family members to create a partnership that not only resolves the presenting crisis, but provides long term family stability. This is accomplished by providing a variety of counseling services and support groups.

The program is licensed as an Emergency Children's Shelter, by the NJ Division of Youth and Family Services. In addition, the program meets federal guidelines established by the US Department of Health & Human Services, Administration for Children & Families, for the operation of a federally funded Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter.

Picture Back of ShelterCore services provided by the program include emergency shelter for youth ages 10-19, food, clothing and medical services. In addition, the program provides 24-hour hotline services, drop-in services, counseling, education, prevention and case management services.

Youth, parents, police, schools and other community agencies can access our shelter program through our shelter-based hotline - (732) 929-0660.

This line is staffed 24 hours a day to assess a youth and family's crisis needs and determine eligibility for admission. Youth who pose a danger to themselves or others may require referrals for alternate placement services, but our program may still provide a variety of non-residential support.

ALL SERVICES ARE FREE, VOLUNTARY AND CONFIDENTIAL
