STREET OUTREACH COUNSELOR
Description of the Position
Under the supervision of the Director of Outreach Services, mobile street outreach services, including crisis intervention, case management and community liaison/outreach initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops rapport with homeless and street youth through mobile street outreach activities.
Provides crisis intervention services to youth, parents and families in designated communities throughout Ocean County.
Provides individual life skills and street survival support to participating youth.
Provides case management and follow-up services to participating youth.
Assists in maintaining daily street outreach schedule.
Acts as a liaison between high-risk youth and agency's shelter program.
Completes progress notes, data entry (specifically in the area of RHYMIS), reports and other paperwork as required.
Attends case supervision meetings and treatment team meetings, as required.
Attends staff training as required.
Completes other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of college credits or Associates Degree, and at least one (1) year experience working with youth. Bachelor's degree preferred. Multi-cultural competence and knowledge of the county and designated communities required.
* Must have valid New Jersey's Drivers License.
